For the past nine years, Johnson Controls employees have rolled up their sleeves to help create a greener city alongside Detroit-area students who are part of the Detroit Environmental Leadership Program (ELP).
The Detroit ELP is a six-week program, sponsored by Johnson Controls in partnership Detroit’s Student Conservation Association, in which students work on projects that help bring awareness to the importance of environmental stewardship, enhance the community and surrounding areas, and teach invaluable leadership and teamwork skills.
In addition to the greening efforts, the students also participate in a professional development day at Johnson Controls, where they attended sessions about corporate culture, teamwork, career development and discussed topics such as ethics, diversity and engineering.
To gain recognition for the program, Bianchi PR has coordinated media relations efforts, including writing media advisories / news releases, conducting media pitching, coordinating onsite media interviews and more. The result has been millions of impressions with media coverage throughout the metro Detroit area in both TV and print.
(Special thanks to Jennifer Mattes, director of corporate communications for Johnson Controls, for selecting Bianchi PR to work on this amazing program year after year.)
