Bianchi Public Relations, Inc. Celebrates 10th Anniversary

TROY, Mich., Aug. 8, 2002 – Throughout history, August 10th has been noted for some famous launches: Magellan’s trip to circumnavigate the world in 1519, the first U.S. electric street car in 1885 and the Orbiter 1 lunar spacecraft in 1966. Another launch – the founding of Bianchi Public Relations, Inc. – occurred on that date in 1992 with much less fanfare, underscoring the company’s preference to help its clients, rather than itself, win recognition.

The firm started with one public relations professional – President James A. Bianchi – a home office, a single client (the former Fruehauf Trailer Corp.) and three guiding principles: focus, responsiveness and experience.

“It’s been a great ride so far,” said Bianchi, who has more than 23 years of public relations experience in the automotive, transportation and manufacturing sectors. “Over the past 10 years, the company’s guiding principles have helped us earn some terrific accounts, establish lasting client relationships and add talented staff. And they’ll continue to serve us well in the journey ahead.”

In the decade since that virtually unnoticed launch, sticking to those three principles has helped the company to grow steadily in size and reputation. In fact, with 2001 revenues of nearly $1 million, Bianchi Public Relations was ranked No. 7 among Detroit area-based public relations firms, according to leading public relations trade journal PR WEEK.

“While we are best-known for our concentration on media relations and publicity for traditional automotive components suppliers, we have expanded our staff and offering of services to help a diverse range of organizations and companies,” said company Vice President & Partner Richard J. Donley, who joined the firm eight years ago. “Our goal is not to be the biggest – or fastest-growing – PR firm in town, but to do the best work for our clients … and to have some fun.”
