Today, gas is $3.41 per gallon, the typical new car sells for $47,000, and ¾ of the companies that ranked in the top 25 North American automotive suppliers in 1992 have been displaced by new companies.  EVs are now a reality, and autonomous driving, connected cars, and software-defined vehicles are well under development.
